Main Campus Enhancements
150 Oak Street
With the Pre-K3, Pre-K and Kindergarten classes moved to their new campus, approximately 6,500 square feet of space will
become available in our existing building. The space will be redesigned to offer more innovative, flexible, and interactive
learning spaces for our older students and enhance our programming in the sciences, the arts, and collaborative learning.
Highlights of this project include:
A dedicated science lab and Tinkerspace for our elementary school – helping inquisitive minds better understand how
the world works
Flexible classroom/recreation spaces – encouraging peer-to-peer learning, increased interaction across grades, and opportunities to further develop our sense of community
A Design Lab where science, technology and design intersect – supporting ingenuity, creativity, hands-on learning, and
A healthy endowment contributes a stable and reliable
source of revenue to support ongoing school operations.
Thanks to the generosity of our community our endowment
has grown significantly over the past ten years and currently
stands at just over $6 million. Our near-term goal is to grow
the fund to $10 million. This would allow for approximately
$400,000 to be transferred to the school’s operating budget on an annual basis, helping to keep up with advances
in technology and science and support our mission-driven
commitment to financial aid, our teachers, and our students.
Transforming the Student
In our 52 years of existence we have moved, renovated, and
created facilities to complement and enhance our program.
We have grown from a single-room school to a thriving urban institution, but this has not been growth for growth’s
sake. The size of the school, the structure of our program,
our gymnasium, the Arts Pavilion, libraries, science labs,
and student space were all improvements that delivered
increased opportunities to our students. Our current project is no different. Each facet—construction of a new Maternelle, improvements to our 150 Oak Street campus, and
the growth of our endowment fund—plays a critical role in
transforming the student experience.
