The Academy
This project grows out of Moïse Touré’s on-going commitment to develop new forums for intellectual, philosophical
and artistic exploration and exchange. These principles are
embodied in the “Academy of Shared Knowledge and Artistic practices”, a new structure developed by Les Inachevés
and recognized in 2012 by France’s Ministry of Culture.
According to Touré, “The aim is to make The Academy
a place of artistic sharing, a place of civic education and
training, a space where collective discourse is audible. The
Academy is both a seismograph of society and a free space.
Every artistic project is able to create a unique vibrant social
event, whose real importance goes well beyond the appearances. The Academy brings the people into the act of
creating, invents new forms of artistic expression, questions
the relationship between amateurism and professionalism,
and establishes deeper connections with the population in
an ethical and aesthetic perspective.”
